Much of Wayne’s early life was in the outdoors and it shows in his works. He spent many summers at Sprout Lake as a child, when he was not camping with the Boy Scouts. At seventeen, he took his first real trip abroad and went to the 4th Nippon Boy Scout Jamboree and spent just over 3 weeks in Japan. After graduating from university he moved around a little and then with his wife Sandra and their two children Michael and Kristin settled in Surrey. The summers still meant camping!
As he approached retirement it started painting. At first it was cars and trucks in a single color. Without the children on the camping trip Sandra had started to do oil painting while they were camping, so one day Wayne tried it and liked it. Now the painted cars are on canvas, along with birds, fish and other out door life!
